British-born Lee started his career performing and choreographing in London, originating roles in Oklahoma!, A Saint She Ain't and Peggy Sue Got Married. He went on to originate the role of cheerful chimney sweep Bert in both the West End and Broadway productions of Disney's Mary Poppins, earning a 2007 Tony nomination for the role and later taking Bert on the road in Mary Poppins' first US national tour.
