Tim Martin Gleason Tapped for Title Role in Phantom Tour

Tim Martin Gleason, who holds the record as the longest-running Raoul in North America seven years and more than 2,600 performances, will assume the title role in the national tour of The Phantom of the Opera on May 26. He succeeds John Cudia, who is departing the tour to celebrate the birth of his newborn child with his wife, actress Kathy Voytko. Gleason will play his final Broadway performance as Raoul on April 23 and will be replaced by Ryan Silverman.

Also featured in the Phantom tour cast are Trista Moldovan as Christine Daaé; Sean MacLaughlin as Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny; Kim Stengel as Carlotta Giudicelli; D.C. Anderson as Monsieur André; Michael McCoy as Monsieur Firmin; John Whitney as Ubaldo Piangi and Jessi Ehrlich as Meg. At certain performances, Kelly Jeanne Grant plays the role of Christine.

Gleason first joined the national tour of Phantom in 2001, moving quickly from the Ensemble to Raoul, which he played from March 2002 to May 2005. He joined the Broadway production as Raoul on May 27, 2005, taking a year-long leave beginning April 2006 to open the Las Vegas production. He returned to the Broadway company on September 21, 2007, as Raoul, also covering the role of the Phantom.
