Mike Daisey’s iPad-Inspired The Agony and The Ecstasy of Steve Jobs Returns to the Public

Mike Daisey’s one-man show The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs returns to The Public Theater for a five-week engagement beginning on January 31. The show’s original run at the off-Broadway venue began previews on October 11, 2011 and was originally scheduled to close on November 13, but extended an additional three weeks to December 4. The return engagement will run through March 4.

In The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs, Daisey wraps his formidable wit around America's most mysterious technology icon in what's described as a "hilarious and harrowing tale of pride, beauty, lust and industrial design." Daisey illuminates how the late Apple CEO and his obsessions shaped our lives, while sharing stories of his own travels to China to investigate the factories where millions toil to make iPhones and iPods. Daisey's journey shines a light on our love affair with our devices and the human cost of creating them.

The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs is directed by Daisey's longtime collaborator Jean-Michele Gregory.
