The Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning hit about a dysfunctional family in crisis.
Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company, which in the past has given New York audiences such outstanding productions as One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Buried Child and The Grapes of Wrath, is back on Broadway with one of the most highly-anticipated new plays of the season, Tracy Letts' August: Osage County. Opening at the Imperial Theatre on Tuesday, December 4, as directed by Anna D. Shapiro, August: Osage County features a cast of 13 Steppenwolf actors which enact Letts' dark but comedic saga of the Weston clan who've gathered at their family home in rural Oklahoma during a state of family crisis. After the opening night bows at the Imperial, we joined Letts, Shapiro and the company, plus a host of celebrated Steppenwolf alums such as Lois Smith, Terry Kinney and CSI star Gary Sinise, for a big ol' family style bash at Virgil's Barbeque on West 44th Street.
