The West End production of Avenue Q will end its run on October 30 at Wyndham's Theatre after a four and half years, according to Whatsonstage.com. The show opened in June 2006 at the Noel Coward Theatre before transferring to the Gielgud Theatre in June 2009 and made a final move to the Wyndham's Theatre in March 2010.
"We’ve had a great time, it's been a real ball, but I think we’ve all grown up and got our sights set on living in a more up-market part of town. And Trekkie Monster wants to be somewhere with a better broadband connection," says a humorous statement from the producers attributed to puppet character Kate Monster.
The current London cast includes Paul Spicer as Princeton/Rod, Cassidy Johnson as Kate Monster/Lucy the Slut, Sion Lloyd as Brian, Tom Parsons as Nicky/Trekkie Monster, Jacqueline Tate as Christmas Eve and Delroy Atkins as Gary.
Avenue Q debuted in March 2003 at off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre before transferring to the Golden Theatre for a six year Broadway run where it won three Tony Awards including Best Musical. When the Broadway run ended, the show returned off-Broadway to New World Stages in October 2009 where it continues to run.
