Description

A new show that wears its heart on its sleeve, Brooklyn, The Musical features a talented high-belting cast and a radio-ready R&B-flavored score. Best of all, you don't have to get on the subway to fall under its magical spell because Brooklyn's on Broadway! From the heart of the proud borough comes a band of soulful street corner singers and storytellers. With a mix of pop and soul, they set their stage and tell a wondrous sidewalk fairy tale about a young girl searching for fame and the father she never knew. With just one clue to lead her, she lands in the city that bears her name... Brooklyn. [IMG:L]Brooklyn, The Musical is directed and choreographed by Broadway veteran Jeff Calhoun with musical supervision by John McDaniel, recognizable from his appearances on TV's The Rosie O'Donnell Show. Two Broadway newcomers have written the show: Barri McPherson and Mark Schoenfeld. The duo first met in the '80s and were reunited a decade later when McPherson found Schoenfeld singing for his supper as a homeless street performer in, yes, Brooklyn. If you think that offstage story is a heartwarmer, wait until you see the magic fairy tale that is Brooklyn!
