Story

What Is the Story of Cactus Flower?
As Cactus Flower begins, a kooky young Greenwich Village record store clerk named Toni is considering drastic action to end her relationship with her older, married boyfriend, dentist Julian Winston. A jolted Dr. Winston proposes, but there’s one problem: Toni wants to meet his wife, but he isn’t actually married. (The fake spouse helped keep previous girlfriends at bay.) Julian impulsively taps his no-nonsense office assistant, Stephanie, to pose as his wife, meet Toni and pave the way for a quickie “divorce.” Predictably, comic complications ensue—including a budding attraction between Julian and Stephanie.
