Stars Toast Winners of 2nd Annual Fred Ebb Award

The 2nd annual Fred Ebb Award for promising musical theater composition—named for the late lyricist of such stage classics as Cabaret, Zorba, the long-running revival of Chicago as well as the upcoming Curtains—was given in a ceremony jam-packed with Broadway's best at the American Airlines Theatre on Tuesday, November 28. This year's recipient of the $50,000 prize went to the team of Steven Lutvak and Robert L. Freedman, whose work-in-progress Kind Hearts and Coronets received a special 3-song presentation by Broadway stars Nancy Anderson (Wonderful Town), Jason Danieley (The Full Monty) and Melissa Errico and Malcolm Gets (former co-stars of Amour). As funded and produced by the Fred Ebb Foundation, the event was hosted by Tony winner Debra Monk. It was an exciting step of recognition for Mssrs. L
