The 2nd annual Fred Ebb Award for promising musical theater composition—named for the late lyricist of such stage classics as
Cabaret, Zorba, the long-running revival of
Chicago as well as the upcoming
Curtains—was given in a ceremony jam-packed with Broadway's best at the American Airlines Theatre on Tuesday, November 28. This year's recipient of the $50,000 prize went to the team of Steven Lutvak and Robert L. Freedman, whose work-in-progress
Kind Hearts and Coronets received a special 3-song presentation by Broadway stars Nancy Anderson (
Wonderful Town), Jason Danieley (
The Full Monty) and Melissa Errico and Malcolm Gets (former co-stars of
