Story

What Is the Story of The Judy Show?
In this autobiographical solo show, comedienne Judy Gold recalls her favorite TV comedies of the 1970s (from The Partridge Family and The Brady Bunch to All in the Family and The Mary Tyler Moore Show) and compares the families portrayed onscreen to her real-life childhood in the New Jersey suburbs. Gold humorously complains about her inability to get a starring role in her own sitcom, wondering why there can’t be a show about a lesbian single mom who takes daily phone calls from her meddling Jewish mother.
