A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you'll never forget!
Who knew Donna Sheridan would have it over on Eliza Doolittle? On May 16, Mamma Mia! surpassed My Fair Lady as the 17th longest-running production in Broadway history. The classic Lerner & Lowe musical opened at the Mark Hellinger Theatre on 51st Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue (it's now known as the Times Square Church) on March 15, 1956 and set a record by running for 2,717 performances. Don't be surprised if Miss Donna S. and her pals knock another Broadway gal off the next rung: Hello, Dolly!, who's sitting pretty at number 16 with 2,844 performances. As ABBA itself once preached, that's "The Name of Game" and "The Winner Takes It All."
