It was a win-win night for playwright Theresa Rebeck on Thursday, October 4. With Mauritius, not only did the author—who's had nearly a dozen plays produced off-Broadway in the past 15 years—finally make her Broadway debut, but the production of Rebeck's play features one of the most winning casts we've seen assembled on the Great White Way in quite a while. Literally. Starring Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham, Tony winner Katie Finneran, Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale and all-around winners Dylan Baker (Happiness) and Alison Pill (Lieutenant of Inishmore), Rebeck's dark comedy about two sisters fighting over the inheritance of a stamp collection was staged by Doug Hughes, who, of course, won a 2006 Tony for his direction of Doubt.
