Passing Strange Will Get a Live Cast Recording

Passing Strange is going to get stranger. The musical will be recorded before a live audience on April 14 from the stage of the Belasco Theatre, but there will be no lights, no set, no costumes and no scenes from the show. There will only be music.

Passing Strange to Transfer from Public to Broadway in 2008

Passing Strange, the off-Broadway musical hit written by and starring singer/songwriter Stew, will move to Broadway in 2008. Beginning previews at the Belasco Theatre on February 8, the funky show will transfer with its entire cast of unknowns intact.

Casting Complete for Public's Passing Strange; Starts May 1

Casting is now complete for the Public Theater's world premiere production of Passing Strange. Joining previously announced stars/co-conceivers Stew and Heidi Rodewald on stage in this new rock musical will be the full cast from last fall's Berkeley Rep production: de'Adre Aziza, Daniel Breaker, Eisa Davis, Colman Domingo, Chad Goodridge and Rebecca Naomi Jones.
