Meet the Quartet of Stars in Mamet's New Play Race

Race is a four-letter word, and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright is famous for his use of four-letter words. However, Mamet says his new play, Race, is about another four-letter word: lies. It concerns three lawyers, two black and one white, who are offered the chance to defend a white man charged with a crime against a young black woman. Mamet, who is making his Broadway directorial debut with the piece, was press-shy on October 22 at a meet and greet in the rehearsal room, but his cast was not. Click through to get acquainted with David Alan Grier, James Spader, Kerry Washington and Richard Thomas—the cast of Race, which begins performances on November 17 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre.
