As the swarthy sailors of South Pacific sing, “There is nothin’ like a dame! Nothin’ in the world.” Nobody knows that better than the Actors Fund, who dedicated a whole night to them with its traditional Nothing Like a Dame benefit on June 15 at New World Stages. Broadway chatterbox Seth Rudetsky presided over the evening’s events, which featured interviews with and performances by a host of Tony-winning Dames. And the women weren’t only the stars—they were also the beneficiaries; all the proceeds went to the Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative. Broadway.com has your ticket to the diva-tastic show.
