Ana Gasteyer Headed for Broadway as Wicked's Elphaba 10/10

Ana Gasteyer will join the Broadway company of Wicked in the role of Elphaba on October 10 for a 13-week limited engagement, through January 7. TV and stage vet Gasteyer previously played the green witch in the Chicago production, for which she received a Jefferson Award nomination. She will replace Eden Espinosa in the role.

Best known for her six seasons on NBC's Saturday Night Live, Gasteyer recently appeared on Broadway as Mrs. Peachum in the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of The Threepenny Opera . She also appeared on Broadway in The Rocky Horror Show. Off-Broadway and regional credits include Kimberly Akimbo, Roulette, The Vagina Monologues, Cinderella, Funny Girl and The Notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci. Film appearances include Reefer Madness, Mean Girls, What Women Want, Dick and What's the Worst That Could Happen? She continues to perform her musical evening Let It Rip! around the country.

In addition to Espinosa, Wicked currently stars Kate Reinders Glinda, David Garrison the Wizard, Carol Kane Madame Morrible, Derrick Williams Fiyero, Jenna Leigh Green Nessarose, Logan Lipton Boq and Steven Skybell Dr. Dillamond.
