Stomp Makes Noise to Celebrate 5,000 Perfs!

Stomp, the off-Broadway hit--and international sensation--played its 5,000th performance on February 20 at its East Village home, New York's historic Orpheum Theatre. A non-traditional "musical," the Obie Award-winning show, which, since its opening on February 27, 1994, has used garbage can lids, brooms, buckets and a slew of other unconventional "instruments" to make its percussive symphony soar, celebrated its birthday with a lotta noise (and a very cute cake). Stomp's 12th anniversary party was held at the Hard Rock Café, and Broadway.com was there. Take a look!
