Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps returns to the New York stage, beginning performances at off-Broadway's New World Stages.
The comedy thriller, adapted by Patrick Barlow from the classic novel and film and directed by Maria Aitken, opened at the American Airlines Theatre on January 15, 2008. The production moved to the Cort Theatre in April of 2008 and moved yet again in January 2009 to the Helen Hayes Theatre, where it will finish its run. It was nominated for six 2008 Tony Awards, including Best Play and Best Director. It played its final Broadway performance on January 10, 2010.
