A Divine Look at The Color Purple

It may have been a gray and rainy morning in Manhattan on October 12, but inside the New 42nd Street Studios, the cast of The Color Purple was shining a golden glow. The new musical, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker (and adapted into a stunning film by Steven Spielberg), tells the soul-stirring journey of Celie, an unforgettable woman who triumphs over adversity. Beloved Broadway star LaChanze takes on the leading role in a show (presented by none other than Oprah Winfrey) filled with gospel, blues and the roots of jazz. The cast offered four rousing numbers to the invited guests. Take a look!
