Christopher Denham & More to Join Cast of Lieutenant of Inishmore

Christopher Denham, a 2006 Lucille Lortel Award winner for his performance in Adam Rapp's Red Light Winter, will join the cast of Martin McDonagh's The Lieutenant of Inishmore on August 22, replacing Tony nominee David Wilmot in the leading role of would-be terrorist Padraic. At the same performance, Jordan Bridges will replace Jeff Binder as James and Jerzy Gwiazdowski will replace Tony nominee Domhnall Gleeson as Davey. Binder plays his final performance at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre on August 18, and Gleeson and Wilmot depart on August 20.

In addition to Red Light Winter, Denham's acting credits include the Broadway revival of Master Harold…and the Boys and Wintertime at the Second Stage. He is also the author of the play cagelove, which was produced off-Broadway at the Rattlestick Theatre in May.

Bridges has appeared in the off-Broadway productions of Big Al and The Dying City. He co-starred with his father, Beau Bridges, in the Geffen Playhouse production of Looking for Normal, had a leading role in the NBC series Conviction and recurring roles in the WB series Charmed and Dawson's Creek.

Gwiazdowski, who is making his Broadway debut, has appeared off-off-Broadway in Clocks and Whistles, Ping Pong Diplomacy, Balm in Gilead and Language of Angels.

Set on a lonely island, The Lieutenant of Inishmore chronicles the shockingly funny events that come to pass when someone kills Wee Thomas, the beloved cat of an Irish Liberation Army enforcer. It all builds to a stunning surprise that has audiences laughing in disbelief at every performance. The play opened on Broadway on May 3 after an acclaimed run at the Atlantic Theater Company. It was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Play and Best Director, Wilson Milam.

Continuing in the cast are David Wilson Barnes as Brendan, Andrew Connolly as Christy, Dashiell Eaves as Joey, Peter Gerety as Donny and Alison Pill as Mairead.
