About This Gallery

Last year they snatched the title away from Cats as the longest-running show on Broadway. Still going strong at the Majestic Theatre a year later, The Phantom of the Opera set a new record this week on April 4, when the production played its 8,000th performance—more than any other show in the history of the Great White Way. After reading a proclamation from Actors' Equity, where the union praised the Tony Award-winning musical for setting "new benchmarks for the theatrical industry," Phantom man Howard McGillin lead the company in a post-show celebration, which included a stop-in from their legendary director Hal Prince, a lot of happy cast members and one gorgeous cake. Check it out.
