Wicked: Behind the Emerald Curtain

A special sneak peek inside the wonderful world of Wicked.

Story

Wicked: Behind the Emerald Curtain is an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at one of the biggest sensations on Broadway. Created and hosted by two of the hit show’s cast members, the tour guides fans through the Behind the Emerald Curtain Museum, an up-close collection of actual costumes, wigs, masks, props, original drawings, set pieces and memorabilia and more from the Tony Award winning design team behind the show. Tour attendees are also treated a talk-back with their hosts, who reveal history, facts and behind-the-scenes secrets about the show while answering audience questions. Following their walk through the museum, fans are taken into the Gershwin Theater itself for a front-row look at the stage and sets where Wicked casts its spell nightly.

Should I See It?

What is Wicked: Behind the Emerald Curtain Like?
An intimate trip beyond what you see onstage, Behind the Emerald Curtain is an informative must for devoted Wicked fans. A rare opportunity to see Tony winning costumes and functioning pieces of the current Broadway production up close, the tour is also an up-close-and-personal primer in what life on Broadway is really like. Tours group sizes are kept modest, allowing for personal interaction with the hosts and other Oz enthusiasts.

Is Wicked: Behind the Emerald Curtain Good for Kids?
The tour is geared toward families of all sizes, and the content is appropriate for all ages. However, given the amount of show history presented and the in-depth Q and A that goes on, you may want to leave very young viewers with short attention spans at home—or be prepared to take them on a lap around the Gershwin Theater’s expansive lobby if they get restless.
