Will Ferrell as George W. Bush
Will Ferrell's Broadway salute to the departing U.S. President will be broadcast live on TV at some point during its limited run. According to Variety, You're Welcome America. A Final Night With George W. Bush will air on HBO, the cable network which has now signed on as a producer for the Broadway run.
You're Welcome America, which will be directed by longtime Ferrell comedy collaborator Adam McKay, starts performances at the Cort Theatre on January 20, Bush's final day in office at the White House. It opens on February 5 and is scheduled to play through March 15.
The date of the HBO airing, which will be directed by TV veteran Marty Callner, has not been announced at this time.
