Dreams Come True as Charities Help Kick Off The Radio City Christmas Spectacular

The Rockettes opened their seasonal Radio City Christmas Spectacular by honoring a particularly amazing audience on November 17: the children of the Make-A-Wish and Garden of Dreams foundations, both non-profits that work to make dreams come true for kids in crisis. The Rockettes bestowed the Chris Grecious Award upon the Make-A-Wish organization and the Industry Icon Award on Garden of Dreams, with a little help from some starry supporters. On hand were New York Giants teammates Lawrence Tynes and Zak DeOssie, Hairspray: The Movie star Nikki Blonsky, The Sopranos alum Steve Schirripa and the one and only Paula Abdul. After some flashy, high-kicking fun (this is the Rockettes, you know) and a brief ceremony, cast members from the show mixed and mingled with their honored guests and celebrity cohorts, making sure the holiday spirit was alive and well at Radio City Music Hall.
