When Terrence McNally’s searing comedy Lips Together, Teeth Apart first hit New York in 1991, it was a Manhattan Theatre Club hit, drawing raves for stars Christine Baranski, Swoosie Kurtz, Nathan Lane and Anthony Heald. Almost 20 years later, the show is back in a Joe Mantello-helmed Roundabout Theatre Company revival starring Megan Mullally, Patton Oswalt, Lili Taylor and David Wilson Barnes. The show’s story unfolds as Sally Truman (Taylor), blue-collar hubby Sam (Oswalt), sister-in-law Chloe (Mullally) and her preppy husband John (Barnes) find themselves at the Fire Island vacation home of Sally’s brother, who recently died of AIDS. Broadway.com checked in with the stars as Lips Together, Teeth Apart gets ready for previews, which start at the American Airlines Theatre on April 9.
