The last show of the 2009-2010 Broadway opened on April 29. Fortunately, the season ended on a high note... one sung by Sherie Rene Scott! The diva's semi-autobiographical musical, Everyday Rapture, celebrated the end of the season by opening at Roundabout's American Airline's Theatre, attracting some of Broadway's usual suspects (and a few not-so-usual suspects, like rocker David Byrne!) to celebrate the show's happy Broadway debut. The whole merry band of revelers, including Scott, co-stars Betsy Wolfe, Eamon Foley and Lindsay Mendez, director Michael Mayer and co-writer Dick Scanlan, celebrated the transfer of Everyday Rapture to a big Broadway stage (the show debuted off-Broadway in 2009) in style, raising glasses at the Mariott Marquis for an opening night bash not to be missed.
