Lea Michele Reveals Plans to Make a Fashionable Tony Entrance

Award show red carpets are the place to show off, so it’s no surprise that Glee star Lea Michele has something eye-catching in store when she walks the rouge at the 2010 Tony Awards on June 13. The Broadway alum is set to perform live during the Tony telecast at Radio City Music Hall with Glee co-star and Tony Award nominee Matthew Morrison.

“For the last several red carpets I’ve done classic Hollywood glamour, but the look I’m planning for the Tonys is more modern,” she told InStyle at the launch of MARKTBeauty.com on June 8. “My dress is very bright; I’ve never worn anything like this on a red carpet before!” The actress noted she’ll make a quick switch into something more classic before taking the Tony stage to perform.

Any chance she’ll stomp the walk in that Gaga ensemble with the stuffed animals a la Rachel in Glee’s “Bad Romance” cover? Probably not, but we can dream.

Whatever she ends up wearing will have to be approved by American Idiot star and beau Theo Stockman, Michele explained. “He refuses to go out with me if I’m wearing anything uncomfortable. He looks at my shoes and clothes and says, ‘Are you sure you’re going to be comfortable in that all night?’”
