Lin-Manuel Miranda and In the Heights Say Bye-Bye to Los Angeles

It seems like only yesterday Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda was singing “Lights up on Washington Heights…” for Los Angeles audiences as the national tour of his Tony-winning In the Heights made a stop at L.A.’s Pantages Theatre (actually, it was June 23 when Miranda joined the cast for a limited engagement, reprising the role he originated on Broadway). All good things must come to an end, however, as they did on July 25, when In the Heights packed its bags and headed for San Diego, where it plays the Civic Theatre July 27-August 1. The end of the Los Angeles run marked the last chance fans will have to see Miranda free-styling as leading man Usnavi until this November, when the star briefly reprises the part in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
