What’s in a name? If you’re the new comedy Abraham Lincoln’s Big Gay Dance Party, a whole lot. The show—a play with dancing—officially returned to New York on August 11, celebrating its opening night at off-Broadway's Acorn Theatre after a hit run at the New York International Fringe Festival back in 2009. The show, written by Aaron Loeb and directed by Chris Smith, uses a seven-person cast to tell a three-part story about what happens in one small Illinois town when a teacher’s Christmas pageant declares that President Abe Lincoln was gay. (Sorry, we can't tell you how this one ends!) Click on for a look at this show’s Big Gay opening night celebration!
