Alan Cumming, John Glover, Steven Weber, Jason Ritter, and Luke MacFarlane will star in a Los Angeles reading of Terrence McNally's Some Men on October 4 at the Saban Theatre. The reading will benefit the Courage Campaign Institute, an LGBT rights group. The event is being produced by Dan Bucatinsky, Susan Dietz and Tom Kirdahy. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
Cumming is a Tony winner for Cabaret and has also appeared on Broadway in The Threepenny Opera and Design for Living. Glover received a Tony for McNally's Love! Valour! Compassion! He has also starred in The Royal Family, Waiting for Godot and The Drowsy Chaperone. Weber's Broadway credits include The Producers, The Philanthropist and Loot. Ritter is best know for his TV work including Parenthood and Joan of Arcadia. MacFarlane is a cast member of TV's Brothers and Sisters and has also appeared on Over There and Tanner on Tanner.
The Courage Campaign Institute's comittee hosts includes Edie Falco, Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, Allison Janney, Cherry Jones, Rashida Jones, Lisa Kudrow, Angela Lansbury, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jane Lynch, Mary McCormack, Rosie Perez, Christina Ricci, Doris Roberts, Kyra Sedgwick, Alicia Silverstone, Marisa Tomei and Vanessa Williams.
Some Men opened off-Broadway on March 26, 2007 at Second Stage Theater where it receieved Lucille Lortel and Outer Critic Circle Award nominations for David Greenspan as well as a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Play.
