What happens when you take some of the biggest stars in the Broadway biz, hand them a work by the biggest playwright, well, ever (we’re looking at you, Shakespeare) and then add one of New York's top theater directors to the mix? You’ve got the November 7 opening celebration for The Merchant of Venice, that’s what! The starry production, led by Al Pacino in the role of Shylock, began life at Shakespeare in the Park this summer before making the leap to Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre, and Broadway.com was there to celebrate this highly anticipated opening night. After the curtain fell on the classic tragicomedy, the cast kept the festive mood going at the nearby Espace where their celebratory party was in full swing. Check out the photos below!
