Pop Star Aaron Carter Extends His Run in The Fantasticks

Recording artist and actor Aaron Carter has extended his run playing rebellious young romantic Matt in off-Broadway's The Fantasticks. Carter, who joined the show at the Snapple Theatre Center on November 7, 2011, was originally scheduled to conclude his run on April 22, but will now perform through July 22.

The cast of The Fantasticks also includes Edward Watts, Whitney Bashor, Bill Bateman, MacIntyre Dixon, Tom Flagg, Matt Leisy, Michael Nostrand, Dan Sharkey, Juliette Trafton and Charles West.

Featuring a book, music and lyrics by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, The Fantasticks concerns two neighboring fathers who put up a wall between their houses to ensure that their children fall in love—knowing that children always do what their parents forbid. After the young lovers discover their fathers' plot, each goes off to experience the world before returning to each other. The score includes such hits as “Try To Remember,” “They Were You” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain.”
