Broadway Revival of Annie Sets Dates at the Palace Theatre

The Broadway revival of Annie will begin previews October 3 at the Palace Theatre. As previously announced Lilla Crawford will lead the production, which is set to open November 8. James Lapine directs.

Inspired by the famous comic strip Little Orphan Annie, Annie made its Broadway debut on April 21, 1977, transferring three times during its run and playing 2,377 performances, before closing on January 2, 1983. The show won the Tony Award for Best Musical and earned Dorothy Loudon won a own trophy for her performance as Miss Hannigan. The show features music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and a book by Thomas Meehan.

Annie will also feature Emily Rosenfeld as Molly, Tyrah Skye Odoms as Kate, Junah Jang as Tessie, Georgi James as Pepper, Madi Rae DiPietro as July and Taylor Richardson as Duffy. Jaidyn Young will serve as the standby for Annie, Pepper, Duffy and July.

The revival will include choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, musical direction by Todd Ellison, scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Donald Holder, sound design by Brian Ronan and hair design by Tom Watson.
