Hannah John-Kamen and Sally Ann Triplett are set to star in the Spice Girls jukebox musical Viva Forever! in the West End. Viva Forever! is directed by Paul Garrington, with choreography by Lynne Page, a book by Jennifer Saunders and orchestrations by Martin Koch. As previously reported, Viva Forever! begins previews November 27 at London’s Piccadilly Theatre, with an official opening night on December 11. No further casting has been announced.
Viva Forever! is the story of Viva (John-Kamen), a teenager who forms an all-girl singing group and enters a TV talent show, despite the disapproval of her mother Laura (Triplett). The musical will feature 16 Spice Girls songs including “Wannabe,” “The Lady is a Vamp” and “Say You’ll Be There.”
John-Kamen’s film and TV credits include Misfits, Black Mirror, Whitechapel and The Syndicate. Triplett appeared in Carrie the Musical on Broadway. She currently stars as Donna in the West End production of Mamma Mia! and will depart the musical September 24. Her additional theater credits include Anything Goes, Guys and Dolls, Chicago, Much Ado About Nothing, Cats and Grease.
