Broadway Grosses: Ricky Martin Is Evita’s Golden Ticket

The money keeps rolling in for the Evita revival as their Grammy-winning headliner Ricky Martin returned to the production following a week’s vacation. The musical, which saw a sizeable dip during Martin’s absence, returned to the million dollar club for the week ending July 15. Meanwhile over at the Minskoff Theatre, The Lion King reigned as king of Broadway, taking in more than $2 million, and The Book of Mormon set yet another record at $1.67 million. The new musical Bring It On began performances to crowds of 94.81% capacity at the St. James Theatre. Now that’s worth cheering about!
