Broadway vet and Girls featured player Adam Driver has signed on to co-star with Mia Wasikowska in Tracks, a feature film about a young woman’s camel trek across the Australian outback, according to Deadline.com. Driver will play a National Geographic photographer who accompanies Robyn Davidson (Wasikowska) on her 1,400 mile journey in 1977. Davidson’s memoir is being adapted for the screen and directed by John Curran.
Driver has appeared on Broadway in Man and Boy and Mrs. Warren’s Profession and off-Broadway in Look Back in Anger, Angels in America, The Forest and The Retributionists. In HBO’s Girls, he plays Lena Dunham’s less-than-perfect boyfriend Adam Sackler. Driver will be featured in the forthcoming films Lincoln (directed by Steven Spielberg), Inside Llewyn Davis (directed by the Coen brothers), Bluebird and Frances Ha. He is also currently filming The F Word with Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan.
Tracks is scheduled to begin production in South Australia on October 8.
