Broadway vet Amy Irving is set to play a recurring role in the ABC drama Zero Hour, according to Deadline.com. Irving will play a philanthropic mother who turns out to be anything but ordinary. The mid-season drama is set to air in 2013.
In addition to Irving, Zero Hour will star Anthony Edwards (ER) and Ken Leung (Lost). The drama tells the story of an editor of a skeptic magazine (Edwards) who, after 20 years, gets stuck in the middle of a mysterious conspiracy. Leung will play Father Reggie, a priest who knows more about the conspiracy than he lets on. Broadway veteran Grace Gummer also recently joined the cast.
Irving has appeared on Broadway in The Coast of Utopia Parts 1 and 2, The Three Sisters, Broken Glass, Heartbreak House and Amadeus. Her film and TV credits include Carrie, Hide and Seek, Yentl, Adam, Alias and the 1996 screen adaptation of I’m Not Rappaport.
