Roger Wright and Paul Hazel will headline the West End premiere of You Can Do It, a new show featuring the music of Otis, Redding, Marvin Gaye and more. The show plays the Leicester Square Theatre on October 7, with further dates to be announced shortly.
Described as a “feel-good show filled with a mix of soul classics, jazz, pop, rock, rhythm and blues,” You Can Do It stars Wright and Hazel as brothers Bertie and Edwin Lightfoot. The brothers are two singers who once found fame as a pair of sibling singing sensations, and are now looking to put on the show of their lives.
You Can Do It will feature a live band and songs from the catalogues of Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis, Jr., Earth Wind and Fire, Whitesnake and more.
Wright rose to prominence after finishing in third place in the ITV1 reality TV search for a lead in the current arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. He originated the role of Simba in the original West End production of The Lion King and played Marvin Gaye in Dancing in the Streets. Hazel’s West End credits include Five Guys Named Moe, Avenue Q, Starlight Express and Dancing in the Streets.
