Which Amy Adams Movie May Become a Broadway Musical?

The glitzy screwball comedy Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day may be adapted for the Broadway stage, according to ShowBiz411.com. Focus Features is considering transforming the 2008 film, which starred Tony winner Frances McDormand and Into the Woods veteran Amy Adams, in to a musical.

The film followed Guinevere Pettigrew (McDormand), a middle-aged London governess who finds herself unfairly dismissed from her job. An attempt to gain new employment catapults her into the glamorous world and dizzying social whirl of an American actress and singer, Delysia Lafosse (Adams). As she tries to help Delysia sort through her various affairs, Miss Pettigrew is swept up into the world of high society.

The stage version of Miss Pettigrew will be written and possibly directed by Robert Harling (Steel Magnolias). Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison (The Drowsy Chaperone) are writing the music.
