Robert Adelman Hancock and Megan McGinnis will star in John Caird’s Daddy Long Legs when the musical plays London's St. James Theatre from from October 31 through December 8.
Set in 1900s New England, Daddy Long Legs follows Jerusha Abbott (McGinnis), a young orphan who is given an opportunity to attend college by an anonymous benefactor (Hancock), who requires that she write him once a month, even though he will not respond.
The production features a book by John Caird and music and lyrics by Paul Gordon, as well as orchestrations by Brad Haak and Gordon, designs by David Farley, lighting by Paul Toben and sound by Andrew Bruce. The show is based on the novel Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster.
McGinnis won the 2010 Ovation Award for her performance in Daddy Long Legs during the show's initial U.S. tour. Her Broadway credits include Little Women, Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Parade and The Diary of Anne Frank.
Hancock also toured with Daddy Long Legs. His theater resume includes Mamma Mia! (U.S. national tour), Fiddler on the Roof, James Joyce’s The Dead, A Christmas Carol, Muscle and Hair. His screen credits include stints on Royal Pains, Guiding Light and The Liver.
