Jeremy Shamos & More Join Cast of MTC's The Assembled Parties, Starring Judith Light and Jessica Hecht

Jeremy Shamos, Mark Blum and Sam Robards will join previously announced cast members Jessica Hecht and Judith Light in Richard Greenberg's The Assembled Parties. The Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere production will begin previews on March 19, 2013 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Opening night is set for April 17. 

Directed by Lynne Meadows,The Assembled Parties centers on the Bascovs, an Upper West Side Jewish family in 1980. In a sprawling Central Park West apartment, former movie star Julie Bascov (Hecht) and her sister-in-law Faye (Light) bring their families together for their traditional holiday dinner. But a house guest has joined the festivities for the first time and he unwittingly (or perhaps by design) insinuates himself into the family drama. Twenty years later, as 2001 approaches, the Bascovs’ seemingly picture-perfect life may be about to crumble.

Shamos can currently be seen opposite Al Pacino in the revival of Glengarry Glen Ross. Last season her received a Tony nomination for his performance in Clybourne Park. He previously appeared in MTC’s productions of We Live Here and Reckless. His other Broadway credits include Human, Elling and The Rivals.

Blum's Broadway credits include Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Twelve Angry Men, The Graduate, A Thousand Clowns, My Thing Of Love, Lost in Yonkers and The Merchant. 

Robards has starred on Broadway in The 39 Steps, Absurd Person Singular and The Man Who Had All The Luck.
