Deception, the new NBC series starring Tony nominee Victor Garber, will begin its run on January 7, 2013, according to Deadline.com. Tony winner John Larroquette will also appear on the series in a recurring role. This marks the second time the series has changed its name, as the show was first billed as Notorious, then Infamous.
Notorious is described as an opulent soap about a female detective who grew up as the daughter of a maid to the wealthy Lawson family. She returns to the Lawson home undercover to solve the murder of the notorious heiress who was once her closest friend. Garber will star as Robert Lawson, a spectacularly wealthy man with a mansion in Greenwich, Connecticut. Robert has four children, a second wife and a mistress and is CEO of Lawson Pharmaceuticals. Larroquette will play Senator Dwight Haverstock, a stalwart politician, and Robert's former best friend, with a mysterious history.
