The third in a fascinating series of plays set at the precise moment in which they are performed has just opened at the Public Theater: Richard Nelson’s Sorry continues the saga of the Apple family of Rhinebeck, NY, taking up a story begun in previous topical dramas That Hopey Changey Thing and Sweet and Sad. Sorry takes place on Election Day 2012, and appropriately enough, it opened on November 6, just as the first returns were starting to come in. Broadway.com headed to the Public to get snapshots of writer/director Nelson and his sterling five-person cast: Jon DeVries, Maryann Plunkett, Laila Robins, Jay O. Sanders and J. Smith-Cameron.
