The Twenty-Seventh Man Extends at the Public Theater

Nathan Englander’s new drama The Twenty-Seventh Man has announced a one week extension to its acclaimed run at the Public Theater. The show will now close on December 16, instead of the originally scheduled end date of December 9.

Starring Noah Robbins, Chip Zien, Byron Jennings, Daniel Oreskes, Ron Rifkin and Happy Anderson, The Twenty-Seventh Man, is set in a Soviet prison in 1952. Stalin’s secret police have incarcerated twenty-six famous Yiddish writers—and a mysterious twenty-seventh individual whose appearance sends his fellow inmates into a state of confusion.

The show opened at the Public on November 18, featuring direction by Barry Edelstein, scenic design by Michael McGarty, costumes by Katherine Roth, lighting by Russell H. Champa and sound design by Darron L. West.
