Roger Allam will return to Shakespeare's Globe as Prospero in The Tempest, according to the the U.K.'s Daily Mail. The production is set to open in 2013. No other casting or details have been announced.
Allam earned three Olivier Awards for Money, Privates on Parade and as Falstaff in Henry IV Parts 1 and 2. He served as the original Javert in the West End production of Les Miserables, and also starred in City of Angels. He has appeared on Broadway in All’s Well That End’s Well. His film work includes The Queen and The Iron Lady.
The Globe's other Shakespeare offerings this season will be A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Macbeth.
