The stars of the 2004 Tony Award-winning production of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Assassins reunited at Studio 54 for a one-night only benefit concert reading on December 3. Occupying the same Broadway stage that Assassins thrilled audiences on, the star-studded evening featured musical direction by Paul Gemignani and brought together some of Broadway's favorite stars, including Neil Patrick Harris, Michael Cerveris, Becky Ann Baker, James Barbour, Mario Cantone, Alexander Gemignani, Marc Kudisch, Jeffrey Kuhn, Denis O’Hare and Annaleigh Ashford, who read the role of Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, originally played by Mary Catherine Garrison. Roundabout’s 2004 revival, under the direction of Joe Mantello, was Assassins' Broadway debut and won five Tony Awards, including Best Revival, Best Director and Best Featured Actor (Cerveris).
