Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off! Nice Work If You Can Get It Sets Broadway Closing Date

The toe-tapping Gershwin tuner Nice Work If You Can Get It, starring two-time Tony winner Matthew Broderick and Tony nominee Jessie Mueller, will play its final performance on June 15 at Broadway's Imperial Theatre. Directed by Kathleen Marshall and featuring a book by Joe DePietro and score of classic Gershwin songs, Nice Work opened on April 24, 2012. At the time of closing, the production will have played 27 previews and 478 regular performances.

Nice Work If You Can Get It tells the story of Jimmy Winter (Broderick), a rich playboy who falls in love with a rough and tough bootlegger named Billie Bendix (Mueller) on the weekend of his wedding. The production’s Gershwin score includes “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off,” “I’ve Got a Crush on You,” “Someone to Watch Over Me” and more.

In addition to Broderick and Mueller, Nice Work currently stars two-time Tony winner Judy Kaye as Estonia Dulworth, Tony winner Michael McGrath as Cookie McGee, Tony winner Blythe Danner as Millicent Winter, Jennifer Laura Thompson as Eileen Evergreen, Conrad John Schuck as Senator Max Evergreen, Robyn Hurder as Jeannie Muldoon, John Tracy Egan as Chief Berry and Chris Sullivan as Duke Mahoney. The Nice Work ensemble includes Cameron Adams, Clyde Ales, Kaitlyn Davidson, Jason DePinto, Kimberly Faure, Paloma Garcia-Lee, Stephanie Martignetti, Barrett Martin, Michael X. Martin, Adam Perry, Jeffrey Schecter, Jennifer Smith, Emily Tyra and Correy West.

The musical features set design by Derek McLane, costume design by Martin Pakledinaz, lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski, sound design by Brian Ronan and orchestrations by Bill Elliott.
