Lily Rabe to Return for Season Three of American Horror Story

Tony nominee Lily Rabe has signed on for the secretive and sure-to-be chilling third season of FX's anthology series American Horror Story, joining previously announced stars Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange and Evan Peters, according to Deadline.com.

Series creator Ryan Murphy took to Twitter on January 31 to divulge Rabe's return to AHS. "So thrilled to announce Lily Rabe is onboard for American Horror Story Season Three! So talented, love her!," he tweeted. Murphy previously revealed that next season will be set in the present day, with a storyline spread over several cities. The third season will focus on "female power," and the mysterious central figure (comparable to past characters Rubber Man and Bloody Face) will also be a woman.

Rabe made her Broadway debut in Steel Magnolias and has since appeared in The Merchant of Venice (for which she received a Tony nomination) and Seminar. Her off-Broadway credits include Heartbreak House, The American Plan and the Shakespeare in the Park production of As You Like It. Her film credits include All Good Things, Aftermath, Letters from the Big Man and the upcoming biopic Pickford: The Woman Who Made Hollywood. Rabe is also set to star and co-produce We’re Just Married, a new film written by her Tony-winning father, playwright David Rabe.
