Stars of stage and screen gathered at the Edison Ballroom on April 8 to remember the life and career of Tony and Oscar-winning producer Marty Richards. A Tony winner for his musicals La Cage aux Folles, The Will Rogers Follies and Sweeney Todd and Oscar winner for the film Chicago, Richards, who passed away on November 26 at age 80, also produced On the Twentieth Century, Grand Hotel, Sweet Smell of Success, Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life and the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Crimes of the Heart. On hand to celebrate Marty were his former colleagues Chita Rivera, Rob Marshall, Clive Davis, Victor Garber, Dee Hoty and many more. Proceeds from the one-night-only event benefitted The New York Center for Children. Click below for your pass inside this starry evening of song.
