Barry Manilow and John Waters Enjoy a Red-Hot Evening at Kinky Boots

When Barry Manilow sang about a showgirl named Lola, we bet he didn’t have this in mind: Manilow and Hairspray creator John Waters are the latest stars to take in the colorful new Broadway musical Kinky Boots. The show, which leads the 2013 Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards nominations, stars Billy Porter as a fabulous drag queen named Lola and Stark Sands as a shoe factory owner who seeks Lola's help. After the April 12 performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, Waters and Manilow made their way backstage to meet the talented cast and get up close to those electric red boots.
