Hot Diggity! Brooklyn Diner Dedicates Its 15-Bite Hot Dog to Kinky Boots Scribe Harvey Fierstein

"Let's make a pit stop at the wiener stand!" Edna Turnblad said in Hairspray, and on May 22, Edna's originator Harvey Fierstein got to do it in real life, when the Brooklyn Diner in Times Square renamed its 15-bite all-beef hot dog the "Harvey Hot Dog." The occasion? The 30th anniversary of Fierstein's first Tony Award, and his 2013 Tony nomination for the book of Kinky Boots. Fierstein happily shared this auspicious, wiener-centric event with fans and Kinky cast members (including Daniel Stewart Sherman, below) who helped him savor every beefy bite.
